YES. The job of being a CNA stinks, but it will help you become a doctor, PA, RN, or anything medical more than you will ever know. Now that I’m done with college and struggled through it, I wish that I would have wiped butts for a few years just to have experience in the clinical setting. It would look GREAT when applying to medical school and the experience would be better for you than any prep class you could take. Good thinking on your part, you’ll go far in life if you are taking intuitive like this now!

It will look good on your med school application, it will give you patient care experience, and it will give you a very different perspective on medical care and doctors – which will make you a better doctor.
You do need a bit of training for certification, but it’s brief. It’s the kind of thing you can take during the summer. It’s only a few days or a couple of weeks long.
Oh, and you’d be doing good. CNAs are so needed!

In my opinion, it would be a great step. This is because you can see much more about how the medical field operates. This will allow you to make a choice ultimately best for you later on. As far as the experience that being a CNA would offer, I do not believe that would be of significance toward medical school.

    Yes it will.
Working as a CNA in health care and with patients will be a great advantage. The more experience, the better.
There are lots of volunteer opportunities as well as internships for young students who want to become professionals later on in college.
    Good luck!

It might help. It shows that you have what it takes to care for people.
I’m waiting for my chance to be accepted into the LPN classes that start next September. I’ll eventually be an RN. I don’t feel the calling to be a doctor.

You would have to get some postsecondary training before you would be able to become a nursing assistant.
