Will You Tell Me The Hard Part About Nursing School? Will A Grant Be Enough To Pay The Rent?
This Question From Part Time Nursing Schools | Leave a Comment
the hard part of nursing school is the whole thing. the classes are very demanding of your time as far as reading and prep for exams, the content of the reading is very very dense so it’s not like you can just whip through 25 pages and be done, you have to read and reread and take the time to absorb what you are reading because the content is mostly really complex. clinicals are absolutely draining, I had to cut my work hours in half, and it’s still really difficult to keep up with the readings and studying. Along with clinicals, you have to spend alot of time practicing skills, I usually spend several hours a week in our skills lab practicing and studying in groups with other students. as far as your finances, I don’t know how much you need to live on, but just know that you won’t be able to work much if you want to be successful in nursing school. you only get to go through once, so if you don’t learn what they are teaching, you just may not be a very good nurse, so make school a priority over working. I would apply for every scholarship you are eligible for, I applied for three and got two, so it really helps alot. time wise, I would say outside of clinical and class hours, I spend about 25 hours a week studying, and I still don’t feel well prepared. it consumes you, but in the end, it will be worth it.
