Why Does New York Allow Certified Midwives To Practice But Only Allows Bsn’s??

QUESTION:

allowing cm’s to practice seems to lower the quality of healthcare while requiring rn’s to have bsn’s seems to make the quality better. hmm…
additional info:
certified midwife: not a certified nurse midwife so they don’t have any nursing background
ny is trying to require the bsn as the minimum degree

    Having a BSN doesn’t make a person a better nurse. There are a lot of very good ADN RNs out there.
    It’s all politics.
