Why Do Different Nurses Administer Vaccines Different Ways? (please Help!)?
This Question From Rhode Island Nursing Schools | The Question Has 3 Answers
Hello,
I am soo scared of shots and I am getting the swine flu vaccine AT school tomorrow during the school day! (All Rhode Island schools are offering it and my mom is making me get it). I always cry and legit hyperveniliate beforehand, and I get really dizzy after and have thrown up/passed out. Somehow though, I can see shots being given online/on tv, but not in person (i have a really queezy stomach) I was wondering though, why do some nurses give a shot in one second and others take sooo long?? At my doctors office, the nurses always take less than one second, but at some of the ones online they take SOOOO long, like they stick it in, adjust hands, push in the medicine, switch hands, and pull it out…my nurses just stick it in push and pull it out. in less than a second!!
for example::
fast—http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygqoWWRMs… ((and mines usually even faster than that, and its usually not stuck in that far) OR http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_rb9j_wR…
compared to…. slow—http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5yUmkxpT… OR http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDtF8DcQ7…
so if anyone here is a nurse or doctor or knows why they are given different ways, that would help! the shot i am getting tomorrow is the h1n1 shot, or the swine flu shot, at school. i am going to let the nurse know how afraid of shots i am and ask them to do it quickly.
THANK YOU!!!
