What’s It Like To Work As A Nurse?
This Question From Alberta Nursing Schools | The Question Has 1 Answer
Calling all nurses!
Hello, I am a sixteen year old high school student in Alberta, Canada who is interested in pursuing a career in medicine. A nurse, sonographer, or general practitioner are my top three choices so far.
So I would like to ask all of you nurses what exactly it’s like to work as one. I understand a lot of the work; my mother was a nurse herself for ten years until she gave birth to me and my older brother
She said it was life-altering, and despite the difficulty and hardships she has faced, it was an immensely rewarding career for her.
But of course, a mother can only help you out so much.
To all of you nurses, describe your line of work. Describe your hours (I understand that it is shift work, yes?), the kinds of things you do, any pros and cons, and whatever personal input you would like to add. I’m interested also in possibly shadowing a nurse or two for a day during my winter break…what would I expect to see?
Thank you for your time.
