Unusual Motion Sickness?

I have been experiencing a weird type motion sickness for a couple of years. I have lived in many different parts of the world due to my parents’ job. And the weird thing is that I suffer from severe motion sickness only in certain countries. For example when I was in Peru, I had no trouble traveling for more than 15 hours straight. But when I was in Korea, I couldn’t spend more than 10 minutes in a bus. (it’s extreme, i know) And I’m not talking about normal motion sickness. It’s so bad that I it was affecting my everyday life.
The only plausible reason that once my school nurse suggested was that it could be the different elevation of each place that is causing this.
well, I was born in Mexico City and lived there the longest and I do tend to feel better in higher elevations. and seems like most of places in which i feel motion sickness have an elevation below 70 feet.
But that’s just an speculation.
Is there any way to explain why I only have motion sickness in certain regions?
