Trying To Find A Good College In Arlington, Fort Worth, Lexington, Or Crowley Texas?
This Question From Texas Nursing Schools | 3 Answers
QUESTION:
I’m about to graduate next year (class of ‘10) and I am already trying to find a college or university. I am looking into becoming an RN or ER nurse. I want a place where there are APARTMENTS on campus that you can live in and won’t have to share your apartment with anyone if you choose. I’m also wanting to have a place where my boyfriend will be able to come over and visit me on campus at my apartment whenever. I really don’t want to go to a HUGE school but that will probably be hard to find, considering it’s in Texas. Please, if someone can lead me to a god college or university, that would be great.
Thank you so much!

If you want to be an RN, you should look at North Texas, UT Arlington, Southwestern, Baylor School of nursing, or start at one of the junior colleges to get your basics. Brookhaven College has an excellent associates degree nursing program that is a great step into a full RN. Tarrant County CC has the same.
Most freshmen do not qualify for campus apartments but there are always rentals near campus; however, I hope you know that by not living in the dorm or with roommates you will be missing out on one of the best part of the college experience. Believe me, there is plenty of “boyfriend visiting” that can be worked out with your roomies. Junior Colleges do not have dorms so you will have to get an apartment if you are not living at home.

All colleges don’t have a nursing program so that’s the first thing you want to look for, unless you want to wait until you apply for nursing school for your 3rd year and go wherever you are accepted. If a college has dorms Freshman have to live in the dorm or at home. If you want an apt in your Freshman year you’ll have to go to a school that doesn’t have dorms. You’ll find there are a lot more decisions to make other than where you’re going to live.
