Online Degree In Nursing?
This Question From Online Nursing Schools | 2 Answers
QUESTION:
Is there any affordable accredited online school where I can get a degree in nursing or at least work towards it online like take the basic courses online (the lesser hands on stuff)??? I obviously know that you really can’t learn how to give a shot online but I plan to when I have the time transferring to a traditional college. For now online is the only way to go. So does anyone know of any online colleges where I can do that???

If all you want is the basic general education and the ability to transfer it later; then what you want is really the cheapest place that has regional accreditation.
Make sure that you completely understand what those general education course requirements are or you’ll waste your time. If the degree requires calculus and you take algebra instead – no deal. You need to understand the degree requirements.
First check your local community college for online courses in those subjects. It’s probably (but not always) the cheapest accredited option.
Then look at this article – http://elearningpundit.com/?cat=27 it compares some options for you in terms of cost. Those “as seen on TV” colleges are WAY too expensive and their reputation isn’t so great. Clovis Community College in New Mexico is probably about as cheap as you’ll get courses that will transfer everywhere. https://kirby.clovis.edu:4446/myccc.htm
What I would suggest is that you get your associates degree in one of the sciences (preferably Biology) which you can do completely online and then transfer to a 4-year college’s BSN program when you can do “in the seat” work.
Community College of Denver has an AS in Biology online http://www.ccd.edu/Online-Learning/Degre… — don’t expect it to be easy. Unless you live in Colorado, this one can get expensive.
If you plan to transfer coursework later – make absolutely certain that your college choices are regionally accredited (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regional_ac… ) for an associates degree level in transfer, no other accreditation matters. Then make sure you understand the degree requirements where you want to transfer to. What XYZ college requires isn’t important if you plan to graduate from ABC college.
If you don’t take the time to learn about accreditation, degree requirements, and some technology skills – you stand a good chance of wasting a lot of time and money.
Good luck!
university of Phoenix is good
