Nursing students.. got a question for you?

This Question From Louisiana Nursing Schools | The Question Has 1 Answer

I am a nursing student in Louisiana. I have a cousin in IN. who is also in nursing school. I dont talk to her but my mom talks to my aunt and what i hear is that the nursing school up there is NOTHING like it is where i go. At my school you do your 2 yrs. prerequisites then apply to get into the clinical portion. You must have at least a 3.0 to even apply but normally nothing below a 3.6 gets in. They only accept about 70-80 applicants out of around 300-400 that apply and it goes by the top 70-80 GPAs. Once you get in there are weekly random drug tests. You must keep a 3.0 to stay in and the lowest passing grade is a 79. You can only “fail (D or F)” or withdraw from a class twice and if you fail more then 2 or retake more then 2 classes you get kicked out of nursing school. Once your out your not allowed to reapply. Of course the classes are not easy but for example my Pharmacology exams have between 20-25 chapters on each exam. Is your nursing program like this? My aunt is saying that this seem really hard for a nursing program. That my cousin didnt even have to apply to get in to the clinical portion all you have to do is be registered as your major is Nursing….
