Nurses That Have Had To Travel/move?? Please Help Answer My Questions!!?
This Question From Florida Nursing Schools | 1 Answer
QUESTION:
I am in school right now to get my BSN degree (Bachelors of Science in Nursing). I am in Florida right now and staying here until I finish my degree. Afterwards, though, I plan on moving to Texas.
Some questions I have are:
If I get my degree in Florida, is that good everywhere in the United States? Will I have to take Board tests or something like that for each state I work as a nurse in? Or will just my degree be enough?
I am trying to figure out early on what I will need to do for the future so any advice is greatly appreciated!! Thank you!

Congrats, I just received my RN BSN December ‘08 (In Texas). Unfortunately Florida and Texas don’t have the same test, and Florida doesn’t participate in the Nurse Licensure Compact. Go to this website http://www.bne.state.tx.us/ it has good info on how to get changed over, and if it doesn’t answer your questions completely there is a number on there were you can call the BON directly. Good Luck!
