I Want To Become A Pediatrician, I Need Advice On What Route To Take In Doing This.?

I am going into my junior year in high school and i know that becoming a pediatrician is the career route that i want to take. I really dont know what route to take though.. I was thinking about goig to nursing school to become a pediatric nurse then going to med school and working as a nurse through out my schooling. Or should i just go to school for premed and then go to med school. I also can make a decesion on what college i want to go to. I live in New Hampshire, but I am looking for colleges in Mass as well as New Hampshire. Also are there any med schools in my area?
Is there anything that i can do in the mean time that would better my chances of getting into the school of my choice?
