How do I tell my mom about me wanting to go to a college in New York?
Read: I currently stay in Mississippi and have been out of high school for almost more that 1 year and a half. She always complains about me not being in college and wanting to see me get some type of degree. My sis is a nurse but I do not want to become one and never have. So I feel kinda like a misfit in the family. I have a possible budding music career at the moment but see it is time to have my Plan B ready for action.
Pros and Cons of In State and NY that I come up with:
CONS OF IN-STATE:
Have to finish prerequisites at home or at community college. Ugh!
Have to have your own transportation
In the middle of nowhere
No opportunity for my music and dance aspirations
Pros:
Cheaper
Closer to Home(But have no car)
PROS OF NEW YORK:
Take the subway everywhere and dont need a car
Can take prerequisites on campus(Medgar Evers College)
Can do and see more
Opportunity to study dance and music
Leading to an actual EDUCATION IN MY OPINION
CONS:
More expensive
Very Far From home
New Area
Would Have to get plane rides back home
