How Can I Go To College?
This Question From Hawaii Nursing Schools | The Question Has 2 Answers
I graduated high school in 2007 and have been dying to go to a university for nursing since before then. The thing is, I have no resources to get there. I graduated with a 3.5 GPA and got accepted to the college I wanted to go to but once I started applying for FAFSA (financial aid) my parents said they would not help me out with that due to having to give out their social and co-signing that they promised they would never do for anyone (some stupid marital oath I guess). I applied for a lot of scholarships I found on Fastweb.com but did not get any. So I said **** it and went to a community college, having to pay all the classes straight up myself which was very stressful. So I quit after the first trimester. I am craving school, the college life, living in the dorms, studying in the nursing program and succeeding…but still, applying for Hawaii Pacific and applying for FAFSA, it says I am still a dependent and that under so many circumstance that are not relevant for me, do I need my parents info, which they again will not help with. So…WHAT THE HELL DO I DO to afford college full time while also working on the side? Am I wasting my time? What do you think I need to do? Thank you.
