La Mesa and El Cajon are just fine. I have a beautiful house on 1/4 acre
so it’s a little warm at times (august -September) but at least I can swim in my pool nearly all year. No houses on tiny lots or hundreds of condos, No dense fog or jackets in the evening.
El Cajon is not Arizona!http://www.cheap-fun-family-travel.com/

The nursing programs out here are much better and easier to get into…and there are a vast variety from which to choose.
As for living, you do NOT want to live in La Mesa or EL Cajon (not La)…both are little better than Phoenix to be quite frank. You would want to look for places west of Interstate 805 for cooler climes.

University of San Diego has a great nursing school. And you could live in nearby Linda Vista fairly cheap.Or even Ocean Beach for that matter.
There’s probably other nursing programs around, for less money.
