Situation: We’ve known each other for a year, and have been seriously dating since January. He’s dying to put a ring on my finger, but I’m hesitant. I’m 22, haven’t even begun nursing school, and I’m more career focused than he is. I’m an aspiring model/photographer/writer; I’m ambitious, strong-willed, and pretty drama-free.

Problem: I feel as though if I don’t get married to him, I’m going to become a spinster, but at the same time, I see marraige as “the end” of my life. I’m living by myself at the moment in Alabama, and he lives in New Mexico. All the dating we’ve ever done has been long-distance. I’m really unsure what the right thing is to do.

He says: We don’t have to have kids right away, and we can still go party together; plus I’m free to travel to anywhere for shoots.

She says: He lives in BFE, New Mexico, and I’m more of a city person. I’m going to get bored quickly and not enjoy myself. I don’t want to wreck this relationship.

History: We’ve been best friends (the kind that call each other literally every single day and talk for at least a minimum of an hour every single day) for the past year. We’ve seen and been with each other 3 times for two weeks at a time.

What do you think? Should I let him buy me a ring?
