Everything About Becoming A Rn (registered Nurse).?
This Question From Oregon Nursing Schools | The Question Has 4 Answers
I am a Junior in high school, I have had the life long dream of becoming a hairdresser and going to beauty school, but I’ve completely changed my mind, that career path is a turn off, and I really want to do something that is more rewarding, I want to help people. It’s what I love to do. And I am a hard worker, when I want something.
I’ve been researching for a couple weeks, asking around, etc. I want to know everything it’s going to take to make this happen. I do not have a lot of money, and I will be going to the portland community college. There they have a nursing program. However, I am confused on a couple things.
From what I understand I can get my Associates degree and become an RN, but I’m confused about the nursing school thing? Do you go to nursing school and that’s where you get your Associates degree? or do you have to go get your Associates and then go to nursing school? and how long is nursing school? Can you get all of this at community college in OREGON? Also, How hard is this going to be? I’m willing to do it, and I know I can do it, just want to know what I’m jumping into. And I don’t like a lot of blood and bodily fluids, do all types of nurses deal with these things? Do you get over it? How stressful is it? I love children, I would love to be a nurse that works with children and babies, what else do you do after you become an RN to become a neonatal nurse?
*Please don’t leave answers that only an RN would understand, I want to know about it, so explain it in a way that a high schooler would know. I don’t know what “KJHKJH” means! Haha, just dumb it down a little, professionals.
And thank you!
