Do I need to take the SAT/ACT to go back to school?

Alright. I will be 21 in October and I plan on going back to school in January. I didn’t graduate from my high school, I got my GED instead. Then last year I went to a Technical College to get my CNA (nursing assistant degree). Since I didn’t finish high school the way I should have…I never took the SAT/ACT. I plan on going to Utah Valley University and it says that SAT or ACT scores are required in order to apply but then underneath it says that rest scores are only required for students under 21 but it says if you’re 21 or older that placement testing MAY be required?
I am nervous….I don’t want to take all these tests just to take a few classes! I won’t be a full time student.
