Can I Become A Nurse With This Misdemeanor?
This Question From Arizona Nursing Schools | 2 Answers
QUESTION:
I am being charged with “contributing to the delinquency of a minor” it did NOT involve drugs or alcohol. It was a matter of providing a cell phone to a friend under the age of 18 and a curfew violation. at the time I was 19 but the case is finally ending next week over it (slow court system). I am currently in the nursing program and fear not being able to get lisc. in the state of michigan or arizona. Please help me.

I’m sure it’s fine. You could call the state board of nursing where you live and ask them what kinds of offenses disqualify you from licensure. If you’re really worried, you could probably go to the court and ask the judge to expunge the record, especially if you’ve stayed out of trouble – how long ago was the charge? Judges often look kindly upon people who are trying to better their lives through education, especially education for a public service like nursing.
Good luck.
criminal record is check in jobs such as police work …you ll probably be ok so thats a YES
