A friend of mine combined several of the online courses with community college courses to “bridge” from LPN to RN. AND she worked full time. She’s very smart, very motivated, and worked her butt off for two or three years to earn her RN degree while working full time.
The downside of any “convenience” online course is the expense as compared to community college coursework. Of course, the RN paycheck is a good motivator! Another downside is your personal level of motivation. It may be difficult to squeeze in the hours required to complete the course, especially when it’s at your own pace, in addition to working full time and dealing with family needs, daily life, etc, etc. You might want to sit down and figure out if you have the time & motivation to devote to self-study.
Contact the rep and ask him for referrals. Many former students of the online LPN to RN programs sign up as referrals so that prospective students can speak with graduates of the program. Best of luck to you!
