Am I Overreacting About The Swine Flu?

I live in Dallas Texas where I woke up to see 3 new cases reported here on the news. I have a 5 yr old child that goes to elementary school. There are a lot of children of Mexican descent at her school, not sure if they would have traveled to Mexico over the weekend or recently etc.
I have a day off today and decided to keep her home with me as a precaution but tomorrow begins a regular week for me and I am worried about getting sick myself, and bringing my daughter back to school while this flu seems to continue spreading.
Would I be crazy to just stay home more days until further notice?
**I’m also a new nursing student, and we just finished a course on infectious diseases which has me a little paranoid
